Artists as Teachers

Every artist knows in his heart that he is saying something to the public. He not only wants to say it well, but he wants it to be something which nobody said before. He hopes the public will listen and understand. He wants to teach them and he wants them to learn from him

هر هنرمندی در قلبش می داند که داره چیزی رو به عموم مردم میگه. او نه تنها می خواهد حرفش را به خوبی بزند، بلکه می خواهد حرفش چیزی باشد که هیچکس قبلا نگفته است. او امید دارد که عموم مردم به او گوش دهند و او را درک کنند. او می خواهد به آنها آموزش دهد و می خواهد مردم از او یاد بگیرند.

Visual artists, like painters, want to teach things which are easy to understand, but very difficult to explain, because painters translate their experiences into shapes and colors, not words. They feel that a certain selection of shapes and colors is interesting for them and worth showing to us. Without their work, we can never notice these particular shapes and colors or feel the pleasure of colors
